Analysis of the Influence of RAP Dosage on the Optimal Asphalt Content of Recycled Asphalt Mixture
To study the effect of reclaimed asphalt pavement dosage on the optimal asphalt content of recycled asphalt mixture, four types of AC-20 recycled asphalt mixture were designed. The Marshall indicators of recycled asphalt mixtures were tested at five different asphalt contents, and the distribution range of asphalt content meeting the Marshall criteria for recycled mixtures was analyzed. The trend of asphalt content in recycled asphalt mixtures under the same void ratio conditions was compared, and recommendations for the void ratio design of recycled asphalt mixtures were proposed. The results indicate that changes in RAP dosage significantly affect the distribution range of asphalt content in recycled asphalt mixtures. The higher the RAP content, the higher the asphalt content that meets the upper and lower limits of the design Marshall index requirements.Under the same void ratio, the asphalt content in recycled asphalt mixtures increases with an increase of RAP content. In the design process of AC-20 recycled asphalt mixtures,it is recommended to control the void ratio within the range of 4.0 ± 0.5%,thereby ensuring that the Marshall index of the designed recycled asphalt mixture meets the design requirements.
