Research on the mechanism of low-carbon technology innovation and regional economic development on carbon emission reduction of the automobile industry
In order to explore the impact mechanism of technological innovation and economic development on China′s transportation carbon emissions, based on the panel data from 2013 to 2020 in seven provinces and cities where new energy vehicles are more popular in China, and use the static panel data model and dynamic panel data model, this paper analyzes the impact of low—carbon technology innovation and regional economic development on the carbon emissions of the automobile industry in detail. In particular, the sub sample regression is applied to explore the heterogeneity between the carbon emissions of fuel vehicles and new energy vehicles. The research results show that: technological progress has a significant negative impact on traffic carbon emissions; The economic development has a significant positive impact on the traffic carbon emissions; The carbon emission has the characteristics of continuity and is greatly affected by the previous emissions. The development of low—carbon technology can more effectively promote the carbon emission reduction of traditional fuel vehicles, and the improvement of economic development can significantly affect the carbon emission reduction of new energy vehicles.
