Effects of Traffic Control and Population Movement on the Characteristics of Atmospheric Pollution
To investigate the impact of changes in traffic control policies and population mobility on atmospheric pollution characteristics and air quality, this study selected Shangqiu,Xinyang,Zhoukou, and Zhumadian in Henan Province as research subjects.Regression models were established to analyze the changes in air pollutant concentrations before and after the changes in traffic control policies,as well as the influence of meteorological factors. The study also examined the effects of changes in traffic control policies on air quality in Zhoukou during the Spring Festival. The results indicated that:(1) The concentrations of six common pollutants have all experienced a significant increase after the lifting of traffic restrictions. With the exception of SO2 and O3,the concentrations of the other four pollutants showed a slight decline during the Spring Festival period.(2) PM2.5、PM10、and SO2 are the three major pollutants among the six common pollutants that have the greatest impact on the Air Quality Index (AQI).Both PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations are positively correlated with AQI,while SO2 concentration is negatively correlated with AQI.(3) As the traffic control policies have been relaxed, the air quality in Zhoukou City during the Spring Festival has been gradually deteriorating from 2021 to 2023 .
