A Brief Historical Overview and Disciplinary Positioning of Publishing in the Perspective of Paradigmatic Transformation
Clarifying the developmental trajectory of publishing is crucial for the construction of the disciplinary systems and academic systems in publishing.This article,framed within the perspective of paradigmatic transformation,first briefly outlines the concepts of paradigm and paradigm transformation.Then it proposes that the research paradigm in publishing has undergone three developmental stages:the parasitic phase during the era of classical literature,the integration phase into marketing,and the affiliation phase with communication.Furthermore,it suggests that future research in publishing studies should construct diverse paradigms through critical inheritance and innovation,internal cross-disciplinary integration,and external integration and expansion.
