The Current Status and Trends of Open Access Publishing Research of Chinese Sci-Tech Journals (2004-2023)
This article analyzes the current situation and trends of open access publishing research of Chinese sci-tech journals, providing reference for subsequent research and for Chinese sci-tech journals to cope with the wave of open science. The research uses the CiteSpace analysis tool to analyze the 304 pieces of literature related to open access publishing of Chinese sci-tech journals published from 2004 to 2023. It sorts out the trend of literature quantity, authors and institutions, research hotspots, development trends, and research frontiers in open access publishing research of Chinese sci-tech journals. The results show that the research on open access publishing of Chinese sci-tech journals mainly goes through three stages, unfolding in the context of sci-tech journals, open access movement, and open science wave, respectively. From the distribution of authors and publishing institutions, it can be seen that a high-yield author group has not been formed currently, and the institutions conducting research on this topic are mainly universities, research institutions, and publishing houses. From the perspective of research hotspots, open access, open science, digital publishing, and others have gradually become research hotspots. A series of new research topics such as preprints, industry chains, and artificial intelligence are constantly being proposed, and new research directions will continue to emerge in the future.
