Theory Application, Topic Concern and Method Selection of Publishing Subject Under the Background of Deep Integration——Bibliometric Analysis Based on 9 CSSCI Journals
The theoretical construction of publishing discipline is the focus of academic concern in the recent years. Using the bibliometric method and the content analysis method, this study conducts the statistical and correlation analysis on the theories, research topics and methods used in the papers published in the 9 CSSCI journals of publishing science in 2023. The findings are as follows: publishing research presents the pluralism of interdisciplinary theory application with the narrative theory, space theory and value co-creation theory which are the most frequently used theories; the research topics mainly focus on four core aspects, including scientific journals and academic standards, high-quality development and internationalization of the publishing industry, academic publishing and media integration, and digital publishing and technical ethics; non-empirical research is dominant, the qualitative method of empirical research is more significant, and the papers lacking theory also show the characteristics of the standardized scientific research methods. These research findings reflect the application and practicality of publishing research, the focus of research topics and concerns about practical problems, and the emphasis on the macro analysis and empirical data characteristics. In order to promote the balanced development of theory and practice in the field of publishing science, this paper puts forward relevant suggestions from three aspects: promoting the dialogue and deep cooperation between the academia and the publishing industry, strengthening the depth and systematization of theoretical research, and strengthening the application and standardization of the scientific methods in publishing research.
