Research on the Current Status and Countermeasures for the High-Quality Development of Sci-Tech Journals in Guangdong Province
This paper analyzes the current development status and issues of sci-tech journals in Guangdong province and proposes countermeasures and suggestions.Through online surveys,literature searches,telephone consultations,and on-site investigations,the development status of 234 sci-tech journals in Guangdong province is analyzed from the perspectives of quantity(scale,speed)and quality(structure,benefits),and compared horizontally with the national and other provincial counterparts.It is found that the number of sci-tech journals in Guangdong province has a certain scale,with a steady increase in growth rate,and the subject distribution is mainly in the fields of medical health and industrial technology.The academic influence of these two advantageous disciplines is relatively strong,and the international influence of English journals is steadily increasing.However,there are problems such as low concentration,unbalanced discipline distribution,low overall academic influence,and a small number of strong journals and English journals.It is suggested that the journal management departments,hosting units,and editorial departments in Guangdong province should work together to improve the quality and increase the quantity,accelerate the pace of cluster development,encourage the new journals in advantageous disciplines and in English,and strengthen the construction of top journals and strong journals to promote the high-quality development of sci-tech journals in the province.
