The Formation Path of Identity Recognition for Academic Journal Editors:Perception,Construction, and Practice
The present paper explores the formation path of identity recognition for academic journal editors, and alleviates psychological issues such as anxiety and confusion caused by unclear identity recognition,to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the development of the academic journal editorial team.By combining the constructivist theory with the identity theory, the paper reveals that the process of editors'identity recognition follows a dynamic, cyclical development path consisting of"perception—construction—practice".First, external environments create professional expectations for editors, prompting them to recognize the necessity of professional identity and identity transformation.Subsequently, through interactions with others in social practice, editors establish multidimensional professional roles, completing the construction of identities such as academic content regulators and evaluators, academic talent interlocutors and nurturers, academic communicators, and academic publishing partners. Finally, editors fulfill their responsibilities by achieving professional values such as protecting the publishing arena, cultivating academic ecology, and advancing discipline development, thereby completing identity recognition.
