Mao Ze-dong's early"people"theory is an important part of Mao Ze-dong's early thought system. This paper summarizes the research results of scholars at home and abroad on Mao Zedong's early"people"thought, and through literature review, scholars mainly focus on"people-oriented"and"democratic"perspec-tives.However,"people-oriented"or"democracy"is only a part of Mao Zedon's early"people"thought, not the whole of it,and thus the scholarly understanding of the evolutionary logic of Mao Zedong's early"people"thought is not comprehensive enough. Therefore,a broader perspective or framework to systematically present the wholeness and richness of Mao's early"people's"thought are needed to uncover the logic of its evolution and its historical significance, and to provide early historical experience and lessons for the construction of the road to so-cialist democracy with Chinese characteristics and the development of culture.
