Exploring the Teaching Model of Civil Engineering Disciplines Based on the OBE Concept
This paper explores the shortcomings of modern educational models and introduces the outcomes-based education(OBE)philosophy.Based on the OBE educational concept,a novel teaching approach is proposed for cultivating applied talents in the field of civil engineering.This approach is to drive pedagogical reform by way sub-ject-specific competitions,flipped classrooms,virtual internships,incentive-based education,and innovation discussions within leaderless small groups.Finally,by utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),the learn-ing outcomes are evaluated from multiple dimensions.It reveals that in comparison to traditional teaching methods,the OBE-based approach is more effective in cultivating applied talents.
