Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Aluminum Silicon Copper Alloy for Mechanical Manufacturing
To improve the mechanical properties of aluminum silicon copper alloys used in mechanical manu-facturing,cast aluminum silicon copper alloys with different Y contents are prepared using the Y microallo-ying method, and the effects of Y content on microstructure, flowability, tensile properties, and impact properties are investigated. The results indicate that the cast aluminum silicon copper alloy without added Y mainly contains α-Al,Si,Al2Cu,and Al8SiFe2 phases, while the alloy with added Y also shows Al3 Y phase. The flow length of the cast aluminum silicon copper alloy increases first and decreases with the in-crease of Y content. When w(Y)≤1.15%,the flow length of aluminum silicon copper alloy with Y added is higher than that of the alloy without Y.When w(Y)increases from 0 to 1.90%,the strength, elongation after fracture, and impact toughness of the cast aluminum silicon copper alloy first increase and then de-crease,and reach the maximum value when w(Y)is 0.85%.
