Evaluation of Anti-aging Activity of 6-gingerol and Rutin in Ginger Against Nematodes
6-gingerol and rutin found in ginger are active ingredients with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.In this experiment,C.elegans was employed as a biological model to investigate the combined effects of 6-gingerol and rutin on lifespan and oxidative stress resistance.Under standard conditions,both 6-gingerol and rutin extend the lifespan of the nematodes without impacting their reproduction,and they significantly ameliorate the nematodes'motility,fat accumulation,and cell apoptosis.Additionally,6-gingerol and rutin markedly decrease reactive oxygen species(ROS),thereby enhancing the nematodes'survival under extreme conditions.These findings indicate that 6-gingerol,as the primary antioxidant in ginger,and its synergistic interaction with rutin warrant further exploration in maintaining animal health and preventing related diseases.
