On Chang Renxia's Research about the History of Chinese Dunhuang Art
Chang Renxia's research achievements on the history of Chinese Dunhuang art are fruitful,which is mainly reflected in the study of Dunhuang Buddhist art in China and the study on the exchange and influence of Chinese and Indian Buddhist art.Based on the materialist view of history and the broad vision of art history,Chang Renxia used the method of art archaeology to investigate and study the stone carving and mural art in the Han and Tang Dynasties,revealing the important characteristics and basic rules of its development and evolution,which not only affirms the influence of Indian Buddhist culture on the stone carving and mural art in the Han and Tang Dynasties,but also emphasizes the absorption,integration and transformation of Indian Buddhist culture and art by the local culture in the Han and Tang Dynasties.His research on the history of Dunhuang art,as a precious literature material,has enriched the database of the study of the history of Dunhuang art in ancient China,and provided an important reference for the study and discipline construction of the history of Chinese ancient art.
