By the visual analysis software CiteSpace, this paper analyzes 1236 research articles on"Chinese constructions"and"English constructions"published in the last two decades ( 2002—2022) in CNKI. The findings are as follows:( 1) The publications on construction research show a steady increase in quantity. The number of papers on Chinese construction is higher than that on English construction research. ( 2) Research frontiers focus on three topics: the introduction of construction theory, the interaction between construction and semantics, and case study of Chinese constructions. ( 3) The key issues include the specific Chinese constructions and the application of English constructions to the language acquisition and teaching of Chinese English learners. This paper concludes with the development direction of construction research to provide reference for the follow-up research.
