Reconstruction Phenomena in the English Translations of Literary Works:A Case Study of Four English Versions of Fu Sheng Liu Ji
The English translation of literary works has long been regarded as an important research field in translation studies.Tradi-tional translation theories emphasize the faithful reproduction of the original text, while modern translation theories have shifted towards recognizing the translator's subjectivity and creativity, viewing the translation process as a form of rewriting and reconstruction of the orig-inal work. This paper takes Fu Sheng Liu Ji as the research object, and through an in-depth comparison of its four versions of English translation,it analyzes the reconstruction phenomena in literary translation from three aspects:paratexts, narrative structure, and trans-lation strategies. The research findings indicate that reconstruction in literary translation is an objectively-existing phenomenon, which not only enriches the diversity of translations but also enhances the dissemination and acceptance of literary works in different cultural contexts.
