阿诺德是俄罗斯20世纪上半叶最伟大的数学家之一,他的主要研究方向是微分方程、动力系统和奇点理论,并且在经典力学、拓扑流体动力学、实代数几何以及辛几何等诸多数学领域皆有深具影响力的原创性贡献.他的名字出现在许多数学概念里,如KAM理论、阿诺德猜想、阿诺德扩散、刘维尔-阿诺德定理等,为后世数学发展奠定了坚实的基础.阿诺德是莫斯科数学学派承先启后的关键人物,他与其老师柯尔莫哥洛夫的数学研究几乎涵盖了所有的数学领域,同时,他也是一位优秀的数学教育家,他所撰写的《常微分方程》和《经典力学的数学方法》已经成为世界数学教育体系的重要组成部分.
Arnold's Contributions to Mathematics and Education
Arnold was a great mathematician in the Russia in the first half of the 20th century.His main research areas were differential equations,dynamical systems and singularity theory,and he has made influential and original contributions in classical mechanics,topological fluid dynamics,and many mathematical fields such as real algebraic geometry and symplectic geometry.His name appears in many mathematical concepts:KAM(Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser)theory,Arnold conjecture,Arnold diffusion,Liouville-Arnold theorem,etc.laying a solid foundation for the development of mathematics in later generations.Arnold is a key figure who inherits the Moscow School of Mathematics,and his mathematical research with his teacher Kolmogorov covers almost all fields of mathematics.At the same time,he is also an excellent mathematical educator,and his works"Ordinary Differential Equations"and"Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics"have become important components of global mathematical education.
