Arnold's Contributions to Mathematics and Education
Arnold was a great mathematician in the Russia in the first half of the 20th century. His main research areas were differential equations, dynamical systems and singularity theory, and he has made influential and original contributions in classical mechanics, topological fluid dynamics, and many mathematical fields such as real algebraic geometry and symplectic geometry. His name appears in many mathematical concepts:KAM(Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser)theory,Arnold conjecture,Arnold diffusion,Liouville-Arnold theorem, etc.laying a solid foundation for the development of mathematics in later generations.Arnold is a key figure who inherits the Moscow School of Mathematics, and his mathematical research with his teacher Kolmogorov covers almost all fields of mathematics. At the same time,he is also an excellent mathematical educator, and his works"Ordinary Differential Equations"and"Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics"have become important components of global mathematical education.
