Rural Educational Practice of the White Horse Lake Teachers in Chunhui Middle School during May Fourth Movement Period
In order to cultivate social talents and support the countryside,Jing Hengyi,Xia Mianzun and other new cultural intellectuals founded Chunhui Middle School in the countryside of Shangyu County,Zhejiang Province.They adhered to the educational concept of pure education and carried out distinctive rural educational practices.Under the influence of White Horse Lake teachers,the middle School of Chunhui has its own characteristics in curriculum,training methods and social services.The combination of compulsory courses and elective courses are adopted in the curriculum to meet the needs of students of different academic levels to the maximum extent.In terms of training methods,they focus on the education policy of all-round development in such aspects as ethics,intellect,health and aesthetics,and take the semi-monthly magazine Chunhui as an important carrier to cultivate students'broad knowledge and broad academic vision.In terms of social services,with the social responsibility of helping the countryside,they set up night school for farmers and set up educational seminars to improve the rural environment.Because of the implementation of the education mode of integration of life and education,Chunhui Middle School opened the road of exploration of modern rural education in China,and reflected the practical spirit of Chinese education.
