Green Technology Innovation,Media Attention,and Corporate "Greenwashing" Behavior
Green technology innovation is the core catalyst for green development,and may become an important means to deal with the"greenwashing"behavior of enterprises.This paper takes listed companies from 2012 to 2022 as the research object to explore the relationship between green technology innovation and corporate"greenwashing".The empirical results show that green technology innovation can play a role in restraining the"greenwashing"behavior of enterprises both internally and externally.At the mechanism level,media attention can strengthen the inhibitory effect of green technology innovation on corporate greenwashing.The results of heterogeneity show that the effect of green technology innovation in inhibiting the"greenwashing"behavior of enterprises is more prominent in state-owned enterprises and non-heavy polluting enterprises.The conclusions of this study play an incremental role in the research on green technology innovation and corporate"greenwashing",and have important reference value and enlightenment significance for improving corporate"greenwashing"behavior and promoting the green transformation and upgrading of China's industry.
