As a part of animal drugs,the study on insect drugs has gradually been furthered in terms of their pharmacology,efficacy and chemical composition.However,compared with plant drugs,the research on animal drugs is not enough,and its basic research is relatively weak,which is especially reflected in the confusion of varieties in the application of animal drugs and the uneven quality of medicinal materials.At present,there is no relevant review on the quality evaluation research of insect medicinal materials.This paper describes the current status of the quality evaluation research of insect medicinal materials from the aspects of character microscopic identification,molecular identification,spectral identification,chromatographic identification,content determination,fingerprint and safety evaluation by analyzing the relevant documents of insect medicinal materials included in the Weipu Information and CNKI from 2005 to 2022.The existing problems and future development prospects are analyzed in order to provide refer-ence and help for the quality control and evaluation of insect drugs.
