Research Progress on Finely Processed Poly lactic Acid and Polycaprolactone-Based Cardiovascular Stents
The clinical treatment of this disease usually involves the placement of polymer-based biode-gradable vascular stents at the site of stenosis, whose main function is to seal the breach and support the true lumen of the vessel(3~12months)and to maintain long-term vascular permeability.However,post-operative complications, such as restenosis with haemocoagulation, prevent the long-term use of stents and result in high medical costs for patients. To address this problem, this paper describes the processing of vascular stents and the progress of research on polylactic acid and polycaprolactone-based biodegradable polymer stent materials and their clinical applications. Finally, this paper will provide an outlook on the research on the application of polymer materials in cardiovascular stents.
