Numerical Simulation of Insulator Strings of Different Materials under Wind Load
The numerical model of third-span iced eight-bundle conductor is established by using ABAQUS finite element software to simulate the galloping of transmission line under different wind loads.Based on the dynamic characteristics and galloping characteristics of conductor,the influence of insulator strings made of glass,epoxy resin and ceramics on conductor galloping is analyzed,and the galloping re-sponse time history analysis,spectrum analysis and trajectory analysis of characteristic line section are ob-tained.Combined with the numerical simulation results,the time history analysis of the wind deflection re-sponse of the line under the wind load of different wind velocities is further carried out,and the suppres-sion effects of insulator strings of different materials on the wind deflection are compared.The results indi-cate that the different materials of insulator strings have little impact on conductor galloping and has no in-hibitory effect on the amplitude of wind deviation.Therefore,in practical engineering applications of trans-mission lines,the selection of insulator strings should be comprehensively considered based on factors such as engineering cost and anti-galloping performance.
