The rapid and strong development of health tourism is the inevitable result of the deep integration of health industry and tourism, which highlights the public's pursuit of healthy life. Our country has a large territory, abundant resources and a large population,and has superior resources and strong realistic needs for the development of healthy tourism. At present, China's health tourism is still a blue ocean, with huge potential and development prospects. Taking the development of health tourism in Sichuan province as the main line, the motivation and current situation of the development of regional health tourism were discussed, and several strategies were put forward according to local conditions: the top-level design continues to make efforts to improve the efficiency of policy supply for the development of health tourism industry;digging deep regional characteristic resources to constantly innovate and develop characteristic health tourism brand products;strengthening medical technology innovation to improve the supply level of health tourism medical services;accelerating the application of information technology to explore the construction of a new mode of smart health tourism industry. These countermeasures based on regional characteristics and international undertakings can inject new vitality into the development of regional economy and health tourism.
