From his diaries,it can be found that Guo Xiaochuan(during his Writers'Association period,1955-1962)was devoted to poetry writing and was constantly thinking about it.He had plenty of energy for his daily work,but often expressed negative emotions.Guo Xiaochuan's criteria for judging literary works can be found in his diary's casual remarks,and it is precisely this casualness that reveals many information.Prior interpretations of One and Eight rarely paid attention to minor characters,nor did they connect Guo Xiaochuan's state of mind at the time.In addition to"Wang Jin",the"Counter-espionage Section Chief"and"Big Bearded Man"are also important entry points for understanding Guo Xiaochuan's"subconscious"at the time.
