Summary of the Roundtable Forum on"Theoretical Exploration of Sports Reform in China"
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the sports sector in China,under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,has proactively advanced reforms by focusing on key areas and critical issues,and achieved significant achievements.However,when measured against the expectations of the Party,the nation,and the public,the development of Chinese sports still faces numerous new contradictions and challenges.To further promote academic discussions on theoretical issues related to sports reform in China,foster scholarly debate and contribute to comprehensive reform strate-gies,the Academic Journal Center of Chengdu Sport University and the Center for Sports Culture and Strategic Communication jointly initiated the"Theoretical Exploration of Sports Reform in China"roundtable forum.During the roundtable forum held from November 22 to 24,2023,experts and scholars engaged in dialogues on the theme"The History,Present,and Future of Sports Reform in Chi-na".The discussions covered both broad topics such as the conceptual reform of Chinese sports and reform priorities,and specific is-sues including systemic and institutional reform,the implementation of the"integration of sports and education",and reforms in higher education sports institutions.
