Design and Implementation of an Improved Clamping Force Sensor for Injection Molding Machine with Temperature Compensation
Strain gauges sensor is used widely to get real-time clamping force of injection machine,in most cases, two single strain gauge sensors are tied on each side of the tie bar to compose a half-bridge without temperature compensation. An enhanced clamping force sensor for injection molding machine with temperature compensation is constructed and tested. Two force sensitive sheets and two un-stressed temperature compensation sheets make up the majority of a single clamping force sensor. For the purpose of detecting clamping force,a double-sided full-bridge circuit is created using one sensor on either side of each tie-bar.The experimental results demonstrate that the improved clamping force sensor outperforms the widely used double-sided half-bridge mode clamping force sensor in terms of accuracy and linearity under a range of clamping force loads. The values of the coefficient R2 for the fitting of the four channels are all a-bove 0.999 7,the maximum absolute error is 25 kN,the maximum relative error is 3.753%,and the maximum clamping force repeat-ability accuracy is 2.430%.
