Research on a Self-Powered System for Tire Pressure Monitoring
A self-powered system for tire pressure monitoring is designed and fabricated, which mainly uses piezoelectric-photoelectric composite energy harvesting device and matching energy management and storage circuit to collect the mechanical energy of tire rotation and natural light energy. Experimental tests show that the output power of the photoelectric energy harvester is at least 327 μW in the weak light environment, the average output power of the piezoelectric energy harvester is 452μW when the actual vehicle speed is nor-mal,and the average output power of the composite energy reaches 1.32 mW. At the same time, the power consumption of the tire pres-sure monitoring system is analyzed to verify the feasibility of the monitoring system working once every 10 seconds from the perspective of energy balance. The tire pressure monitoring system using the mechanical energy of tire rotation and solar energy can be self-sus-tained for a long time without additional batteries or backup power supply, which has certain reference value.
