Design and research of thermoelectric generator for optical fiber sensor network
A thermoelectric energy harvesting system applied in sensor node for fibre-optic seabed seismographs is researched, fabricated and tested.A thermoelectric generator(TEG)applied for fiber-optic sensor is fabricated based on bismuth telluride thermoelectric material, and the thermoelectric model is established and verified. An energy management circuit for gathering and using energy output by TEG is proposed. The design idea, circuit schematics, and simulation underwater environment experiments are introduced in detail.Experimental data shows that the produced TEG can directly convert thermal energy into electrical energy with an efficiency of 2.67%,and the designed energy management circuit can collect and utilize electrical energy with an efficiency of 23.09%.The research results are significance for extending the working time of optical fiber submarine nodes and increasing system reliability.
