Research of hyperelastic flexible conductor with double-helical structure
Flexible electronic devices are widely interested because of its stability, high conductivity, and great stretchability.A double-helix flexible conductor(DHFC)composed of thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)and copper(Cu)wireis fabricated, the initial conductivity of the conductor is 5.71×107 S/m.By increasing the helical diameter, tensile performance is increased, the maximum strain of the DHFC can reach 6 706%.In the elastic strain range,DHFC shows high stability at repeated deformation(1 000 cycles of stretching with a strain of 2200%)with a negligible increasing in resistance. In addition, due to the conductor is coated with waterborne polyurethane(WPU),it has excellent waterproof performance, and the resistance value measured in the water is basically the same as that measured in the air environment.
