Comparative Analysis of Epidemiological and Clinical Characteristics of Condyloma Acuminatum Between Yi and Han Ethnic Groups in Liangshan Area of Sichuan Province
Objective To reveal the differences in epidemiological and clinical characteristics of condyloma acuminatum(CA)patients between the Yi and the Han ethnic groups in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture,Sichuan.Methods A total of 102 patients with CA treated in 4 hospitals in Liangshan area,Sichuan Province from December 2022 to January 2024 were selected as the research subjects.They were divided into the Yi group(n=52)and the Han group(n=50)based on their different ethnicities.The demographic,sexual behavior and clinical characteristics,knowledge of human papillomavirus(HPV)and CA,as well as psychological and quality of life characteristics were compared between the two groups.Results The average age of onset,the average monthly income,the proportion of patients who performed genital cleansing before sexual activity,and the awareness of HPV in the Yi group were lower than those in the Han group(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of time of onset,recurrence and quality of life(P>0.05).Conclusion There are significant differences in some epidemiological characteristics of CA patients between the Yi and Han ethnic groups in Liangshan,suggesting that different preventive measures should be taken for different ethnic groups.
