Building of engineering construction information system in countries along the"Belt and Road"
The construction of overseas projects is faced with numerous geological risks, and hence,a method for information system building supported by spatial database and GIS technology is suggested in this paper. The method put the hundreds of projects, thousands of geological boreholes, six types of special soils and rocks,as well as multiple thematic geological maps collected from the countries along the"Belt and Road"into a unified database management system, and it integrates such non-structured data as overseas engineering construction standards, specifications, and construction techniques. So the multi-sourced heterogeneous data in engineering construction can get integrated management. The system built based on GIS spatial analysis technologies such as buffer zone analyzing and overlay analyzing in this paper can be used to quickly obtain comprehensive geological information for ongoing engineering projects and their surrounding areas, and support the whole process of engineering construction with data, improve the efficiency of data application.Data silos can be broken through the unified collection, storage, correlation analysis and intelligent application of all kinds of huge amount of engineering construction data from dispersed sources and in various formats, and can not only provide services for single engineering construction, but also provide base for data mining, knowledge discovery and intelligent analysis applications in a large area.
