Preliminary evaluation of the LT-1 geolocation accuracy and radiation characteristics
Aiming at the problem that there are few studies on the geolocation accuracy and radiation quality evaluation of LT-1 currently, one scene each of the LT-1 ascending and descending images in the Tianjin area were applied to evaluate the direct geolocation accuracy and indirect geolocation accuracy in this paper.Three parameters including dynamic range, radiation resolution and equivalent number of look were used to evaluate the radiation quality of LT-1.The results showed that LT-1 had an overall offset of more than 70 meters in direct geolocation while an overall offset of more than 25 pixels in indirect geolocation.LT-1 had an overestimation of slant range measurements in the range direction and a time delay in the azimuth direction. After eliminating the overall offset, the direct geolocation accuracy of LT-1 achieved 10.6 meters and the indirect geolation accuracy was improved to 2.4 pixels. In terms of radiation quality, the dynamic range of LT-1 was about 42 dB,while the radiation resolution was about 3 dB and the equivalent number of look was close to 1,indicating that LT-1 had good radiation imaging capabilities. The experiments showed that LT-1 had high geolocation accuracy and good radiation imaging quality, which ensured that LT-1 could provide reference for natural resource remote sensing, digital elevation model(DEM)generation, disaster monitoring and high-precision mapping.
