Research on the influence of DEM horizontal resolution on the slope units extracted by MIA-HSU method
In response to the issue that the horizontal resolution of digital elevation model (DEM) affects the extraction results of slope units in landslide hazard analysis, this article takes the Jiangjiagou watershed in Dongchuan District,Kunming City,Yunnan Province as the research area, and uses the slope unit extraction model MIA-HSU to analyze the differences in the extraction results of slope units in the Jiangjiagou watershed under different horizontal resolution DEM conditions.Taking the slope unit extracted by a 1 m resolution DEM and slope as references, the influence of DEM horizontal resolution on slope unit extraction results is evaluated through criteria such as average slope error of slope unit, and internal slope uniformity of slope unit. The study shows that with the decrease in DEM horizontal resolution, compared with the slope units extracted by a 1 m resolution DEM,although the average slope error increases, and the internal slope uniformity decreases. However, considering the change rate of each index, the availability and cost of DEM data, and the superposition analysis results of landslide and slope units in the study area, and finally giving that the error of each judgment index is within an acceptable range, this study recommends that DEM with 12.5 m resolution is the best for extracting slope units in Jiangjiagou.
