Analysis and prospect of failure reasons for submarine cable fault warning
This article introduces the composition of the submarine cable online monitoring system for offshore oil platforms,including the submarine cable temperature monitoring system,submarine cable stress monitoring system,and submarine cable disturbance monitoring system.It describes the online monitoring principles and functions of each system separately.Taking the grounding fault of a 26/35kV submarine cable between a certain platform in Bohai Sea as an example,this paper discusses the reasons why the online monitoring system of submarine cables failed to effectively warn,and proposes a plan to improve the accuracy of early warning for the online monitoring system of submarine cables on offshore oil platforms.It points out the opportunities and challenges in the field of submarine cable monitoring and testing for offshore oil platforms.
