Integrated Operation of Hydro-wind-solar Bases with New Energy Capacity Allocation
Renewable energy sources such as hydro, wind, and solar are of critical importance in the global transition towards clean and sustainable energy as demands escalate.Traditionally, these energy sources have been operated independently, and thus posing challenges to their optimal synergy. The integrated operation of hydro-wind-solar base offers a solution to resource variability and grid acceptance. Our findings demonstrate that integrated operation maximizes the peak shifting capacity of hydropower, reduces the volatility of wind and solar, and improves the utilization rate of new energy. The peak-shifting capacity of dispatched hydropower stations and the grid stability should be considered in selecting power distribution schemes. The thorough examination of new energy capacity allocation is expected to provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for the efficient utilization of clean energy.
