Emission Reduction Calculation Method for Electric and Hybrid Propulsion Vessels:Analysis and Application Scenarios
This study focuses on the method for calculating greenhouse gas emission reductions in electric and hybrid propulsion vessels,as well as the potential and challenges of energy-saving emission reductions.By constructing a calculation model and defining baseline and project scenarios,we performed detailed calculations on annual baseline emissions, project emissions, leakage emissions, and project emission reductions.Additionally,we undertook an in-depth analysis of the emission reduction effect, sustainability, and environmental contribution of the project. The findings of this study indicates:① Substantial emission reduction effect, with a cumulative reduction of 14,781.09 tons during the accounting period and an average annual reduction of 1,478.11 tons.② High level of sustainability. The project emissions and emission reductions follow a decreasing trend while maintaining at relatively high levels.③Notable environmental contributions. The proportion of emission reductions from the project to baseline emissions has been above 50 percent each year, peaking at over 80 percent. The conclusions of this paper offer a practical and viable method for greenhouse gas emission calculations and provide reliable references for promoting the green and low-carbon development in operational vessels.
