Research Progresses of the Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Artificial Wetlands
Artificial wetlands are widely used in sewage treatment and ecological restoration due to their ecological benefits, low resource consumption,cost-effectiveness,and stability. While removing pollutants, artificial wetlands also produce and release greenhouse gases such as CO2,CH4 and N2O,which may reduce their ecological and environmental benefits. This paper introduces the characteristics and mechanism of greenhouse gas emissions from different types of artificial wetlands, and summarizes the effects of various factors such as plant types, substrates, configuration, influent loads, operation modes and seasonal variations on emission fluxes.Additionally,we offer emission reduction measures and propose future research directions.
