Economic growth and higher education development are mutually supportive and together contribute to the overall development of a country or region.Based on the data of economic growth and higher education development in Hubei Province from 2008 to 2020,we employ a gray correlation analysis model to examine the relationship between economic growth and higher education development.We quantitatively analyze how higher education impacts economic growth in Hubei Province and summarize the factors influencing this contribution.The results indicate a moderate correlation between economic growth and higher education development in Hubei Province in general.Strengthening the links between economic growth and educational development not only contributes to scientific and technological innovation and provides technical support for industrial upgrading,but also promotes the development of science-and-technology-driven economy.
