Plant is one of the landscape design elements and an integral part of landscape space in the Yangtze River shoreline.Plant design in the green space along the Yangtze River shoreline is crucial for creating an ecologically natural and water-friendly environment while maintaining the ecological stability of the river basin.Taking the Golden Age Cultural Garden along the Yangtze River shoreline in Nanjing as a case study,we summarized the key points of plant design in line with the status quo of plants and the regional hydrological characteristics.We also analyzed the planting pattern,plant community structure,species selection and spatial configuration from the aspects of ecological connectivity,thematic coherence,adaptation to submergence periods,and visual guidance.The findings are expected to provide reference for enhancing plant landscape design in the fluctuation zone along the Yangtze River.
