Reflections on the Application of Guidelines for Soil Erosion Measurement in Production and Construction Projects to Point Projects
Soil erosion calculation is an important content in water and soil conservation plans for production and construction projects. The accuracy of the calculation directly influences the design of soil and water conservation measure.Taking a point project in Wuhan as a case study,we compared and analysed the advantages and shortcomings of the analogy method and the Guidelines for Soil Erosion Measurement in Production and Construction Projects(hereinafter referred to as the"Guidelines"method). The results show that:(1)Calculation formulas in the Guidelines method account for a broader range of factors affecting water and soil erosion, hence better reflecting the actual situation of the project compared to the analogy method.(2)Soil erosion in the original landform calculated by the Guidelines method is smaller than the actual, but the soil erosion after disturbance is consistent with the actual.(3)The Guidelines method have a broader application scope extending from soil and water conservation scheme to supervision and management, administrative enforcement and dynamic monitoring in large-scale water and soil erosion.
