A Method of Selecting DC Combiner Box for Centralized PV Power Station Based on Optimal Weighting of Primary and Secondary DC Combiner Cables
The type of DC combiner box significantly impacts the cost of DC combiner system in centralized photovoltaic (PV) power station.Currently, most centralized PV projects use DC combiner boxes with a higher number of input circuits to reduce the length of the secondary DC combiner cable, which overlooks the total cost of primary and secondary DC combiner cables and therefore lacks theoretical basis for economic selection. To address this issue,we propose a method for selecting DC combiner box in centralized PV projects based on the weighted optimization of primary and secondary DC combiner cables.By thoroughly considering the relative lengths and prices of primary and secondary combiner cables,we propose an economic comparison model for DC combiner boxes and obtain the optimal number of input circuits. The proposed method for selecting DC combiner box in PV stations effectively reduces the cost of PV power plants and is conducive to the cost-effective integration of PV projects into the power grid.
