Differences in Carbon Content of Typical Vegetation between the Upper Jinsha River and Other Watersheds
Understanding the background information of vegetation carbon content is the basis for estimating the vegetation carbon storage in the upper Jinsha River.Based on field surveys and literature analysis,we compare the differences of carbon content in major vegetation types between the upper Jinsha River and other watersheds, and explore the reasons for the differences. The results indicate that the carbon content of the same tree species varies among different watershed areas. In the upper Jinsha River, the carbon content of most tree species, except for Masson pine,is generally higher than that in other areas.Multiple factors, including the altitude, temperature, sunlight, precipitation, soil conditions, topography, human activities, and ecosystems in the upper Jinsha River, play a significant role in influencing the carbon content of the region's vegetation. The research findings can provide references for estimating the vegetation carbon storage and selecting the advantageous species for carbon sequestration enhancement in the upper Jinsha River.
