Competition Policy,Unified Large Market and Efficiency of Resource Allocation
To promote the construction of a national unified large market,it is necessary to deepen the market-oriented reform of fac-tors,and the implementation of competition policy is of great significance to the construction of a high-standard market system. This paper theoretically analyzes the internal mechanism of competition policy to promote the construction of national unified large mar-ket,and uses the"Anti-monopoly Law"to implement this quasi-natural experiment, and tests the institutional effect of competition policy on the efficiency of resource allocation from the middle level. The empirical results show that the implementation of competi-tion policy and the strengthening of law enforcement significantly reduce the degree of resource mismatch and improve the efficiency of resource allocation.Under the unified large market framework, competition policy promotes the efficiency of enterprise resource al-location through two ways, including increasing market entry rate to reduce market entry barriers, and improving market segmenta-tion to reduce factor flow barriers.Heterogeneity test shows that the institutional effect of competition policy is more significant in the samples with higher administrative barriers and market barriers and more severe local protectionism. The expansibility test shows that the fair competition review system is similar to the anti-monopoly law and can increase the efficiency of resource allocation. The research of this paper enriches the relevant literature on the evaluation of the effect of competition policy system, and provides policy enlightenment for promoting the construction of national unified large market and realizing the goal of high-quality economic devel-opment.
