Vegetation Restoration and Reconstruction in the Water-Fluctuation Zone of Three Gorges Reservoir Area
The vegetation selection and habitat cultivation are determined by the characteristics, the forming mechanism and the ecological features of the water-fluctuation zone, which are of vital importance to the vegetation restoration and reconstruction in the zones of Three Gorges Reservoir area. Present restoration modes are categorized into the water-fluctuation-adaptive mode and the soil-substrate-reinforcement mode in the light of previous studies and a-chievements in this regard. In consideration of the site condition of vegetation in the zone, an eco-friendly, technically feasible mode of vegetation restoration and reconstruction based on soil stabilization is finally proposed. It is applied to the eco-restoration practice in the river course, and is proved to be of great feasibility and practical value.
