Research Methodology of Area Studies from the Perspective of Economics:From Rationality to Transcending Rationality
As an interdisciplinary subject,the key issue in the construction of the disciplinary system of Area Studies is to promote the cross-integration of multidisciplinary methodologies.The methodological rationalism of economics,based on the two basic principles of self-interest and maximization,has application value in research fields such as religion,society and his-torical changes in Area Studies.The expansion and transcendence of the methodological rationalism of economics provide more research method options for Area Studies.Against the background of the challenges faced by global justice,adhering to the two approaches of instrumental rationality and value rationality and realizing the compatibility of Western economic rationalism and Marx's rationality in the value dimension are of great significance for the construction of an independent knowledge system of Area Studies with Chinese characteristics.
