Self-employment and Multi-level Social Insurance Demands—An Empirical Study Based on China Household Financial Survey Data
Based on the data of China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)from 2013 to 2017,the impact of self-employment on multi-level social insurance demand is tested.The study finds that the demand for multi-level social insurance after individual self-employment will in-crease significantly,with an average increase of 3.29 percentage points.Compared with employed individuals,developmental entrepreneurial individuals aged 45~59 years and with a medium level of income have higher multi-level social insurance needs.In terms of insurance types,self-em-ployed individuals have the highest demand for multi-level pension insurance,while the demand for multi-level medical insurance is low.Self-employed individuals will also increase the multi-level social insurance needs of their families,and the order of allocation is young adults,the elderly and children.
