Regional Differences and Convergence of Green Technology Innovation on Urban Carbon Emission Reduction—Evidence from Prefecture-level Cities
The paper uses panel data of 299 China's cities to construct a spatial Dubin model and empirically studies the regional differences and convergence of the impacts of green technolo-gy innovation on urban carbon emissions. The results show that our green technology innovation can reduce carbon emission level, and there is a spatial correlation effect.Horizontally, the im-pact of green technology innovation on carbon emissions in different regions has obvious regional differences, with the eastern,Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta and other economically de-veloped regions having a stronger impact, while the central and western regions,Beijing,Tian-jin,Hebei and other regions being relatively weak.Vertically, regional differences in the impact of green technology innovation on carbon emissions have been converging since 2015,which is due to the narrowing of regional economic development gap.In the future, continuous promotion of green technology innovation and narrowing of regional development gap is the only way to a-chieve the goals of carbon emission reduction and carbon emission peak.
