Analysis of the Dual Operating Pressure of Agricultural Insurance Companies from the Perspective of Local Government Intervention
Based on panel data from 31 provinces(districts, cities)from 2008 to 2020,using models such as fixed effects and threshold regression, this study quantitatively evaluates the im-pact of local government intervention on agricultural insurance business operations from the dual dimensions of business claims and cost expenses. The results show that local government inter-vention has significantly increased the simple payout rate and comprehensive expense rate of agri-cultural insurance business, causing dual operational pressure on agricultural insurance compa-nies.Further research has found that when the participation density crosses the negative thresh-old,the pressure on agricultural insurance compensation caused by local government intervention significantly weakens. In view of this, measures such as setting red lines for local government in-tervention and accelerating technology empowerment of agricultural insurance should be taken to promote scientific and independent operation of agricultural insurance companies.
