Theoretical Analysis and Empirical Evidence Demonstrate the Role of Employment Quality in Promoting Household Consumption Upgrading
This paper uses the data from six waves of the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)spanning from 2010 to 2020 and constructs an individual-level employment quality indicator sys-tem.The study empirically examines the impact of employment quality on the upgrading of household consumption. The results show that employment quality significantly promotes the up-grading of household consumption. The impact of improved employment quality on the upgrading of consumption is more pronounced in urban, eastern, and southern households compared to rural and central-western regions.Mechanism analysis indicates varying degrees of moderating effects from financial literacy, family economic conditions, and age groups.
