An Empirical Study on the Promotion Effects of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education in Higher Education on China's Import and Export Trade
Based on provincial panel data from 2002 to 2021,this empirical study investigates the impact, heterogeneity characteristics, and spatial effects of Sino-foreign cooperative education on China's import and export trade. The research finds that Sino-foreign cooperative higher edu-cation significantly promotes the development of China's import and export trade, especially in regions with lower levels of human capital and less government emphasis on higher education.Differences in the effects of Sino-foreign cooperative education at the undergraduate and graduate stages on import and export trade are also observed. Moreover, projects involving Sino-foreign cooperative higher education exhibit significant positive spatial spillover effects on import and ex-port trade.Given these findings,it is recommended to emphasize the economic role and strategic significance of Sino-foreign cooperative education in promoting foreign trade.Measures should be taken to expand educational capacity systematically, tailor development strategies to regional dis-parities,focus on adaptive approaches, and further enhance regional cooperation to foster a coor-dinated development pattern between Sino-foreign cooperative education and foreign trade.
