An Analysis of the Cultural Relics with Lion-shaped Pattern in Xinjiang and its Characteristics
According to the historical records such as Shiji,Hanshu and unearthed materials,it can be seen that the approximate time when the lion was introduced into China through the Silk Road as a tribute of the Western Regions.Taking the archaeological discovery of lion images in cultural remains such as the Beiting Ancient City Site and so on as an example,it briefly sorts out the different cultural relics with lion-shaped pattern unearthed in cultural remains in Xinjiang,that some can be majestic,some are regarded as auspicious beasts,some highlight their important position in Buddhism,and some become prey for warriors to hunt.We summarize the characteristics of Xinjiang cultural relics with lion-shaped pattern and further discuss the cultural connotation behind the cultural relics with lion-shaped pattern which are the wisdom crystallization of cultural exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
